burn for you

I’m completely obsessed with candles lately. They lend such a nice ambience to a room and make your home smell incredible. One of my favourite looks is groups of different sized white candles as a summery table centrepiece. I also love these hanging tea candles.

A girl that I know from home has started her own candle making business and last time I was home my Mum bought me one from her stall at our local farmers markets. This was about five weeks ago, and I’ve already completely burnt the candle. It was a delicious basil, mandarin and lime flavour, nice and homely but not too sweet – I can’t handle candles that are too sweet! I’m now burning my way through a cotton scented white candle that I bought at the Bondi markets earlier in the year. The smell is so clean and fresh; like newly washed clothes and it reminds me of my Mum! I now really want to get a Diptyque candle, either the tuberose or baies. I smell these babies every time I’m in Mecca Cosmetica but I just can’t justify the price at the moment! For amazing candles at more realistic prices, most markets have a candle stall somewhere. There is an incredible one at Bondi markets if any Sydneysiders are interested. For the rest of you, Hope Candles  is based out of Narrandera, my hometown. Cassie makes amazing candles at super affordable prices with a heap of variations of scents, sizes and jars. She will also post them!

Tell me, what’s your favourite candle scent? Any suggestions for me (scent and brand suggestions most welcome!)
