A Little Black Dress

Happy weekend! I hope you have fun plans. I’m popping in today to share that old wardrobe classic – the little black dress, perfect for taking you from work to the bar, or out with the girls for Friday night wines. An easy peasy black dress, a glass of shiraz, and life is good.

There’s just something about a little black dress that radiates confidence – it’s classic, able to be dressed up or down and there are just so many out there. It’s seriously hard to find an unflattering black dress. I love that this number has sleeves and a flattering wrap skirt (hard to see in these photos as black can be tricky to photograph). Pair it with simple gold earrings, mules and a round black velvet bag, and you’re good to go.

If I’m really honest though, I actually don’t own a whole heap of day to day dresses. I’ve got plenty of cocktail dresses and couple of killer black tie numbers but everyday, throw it on and go is where I struggle. Boohoo.com has so many great options that I honestly didn’t know where to start when searching for something for this post. They cover every style, so I recommend sorting by colour and style to get you started. I landed on the dress featured for a couple of reasons, but mostly because it’s incredibly versatile. Maybe a little too short for work, depending on your office and it’s culture, but pair it with opaque black tights and ankle boots and you’d be onto a winner in winter.

Can we also talk for a second about how great these earrings are? I love love love delicate jewellery and these are on trend without being overwhelming – classic and simple, at a great price. Likewise these black mules. I plan on wearing these with jeans and a blazer for an easy look come the cooler months.

Thanks to my brother Nick for the snaps!
